DEL BOY HAS 'EM IN STITCHES
The Canal Road car showroom was decked out like the TV classic comedy show’s Nag's Head pub and many of the 50 guests were at first fooled into thinking the real ‘Del Boy’ had arrived. Parts department customers played roulette and tried to grab as much fake money as possible in a cash cube competition for the chance to win a £1,000 holiday. Three contestants battled it out in a final cash cube head-to-head with 28-year-old Richard Law, of Broadmead, Trowbridge, the eventual winner. Richard, a mechanic at T&A Motors of Bradford on Avon, plans to take his girlfriend Lacey on holiday to Ibiza next year. He attended the Reed Only Fools and Horses night with work colleague Sarah Williams and they agreed that in the event of either one winning, they would share the prize. “If we can’t split the holiday vouchers, I’ll give Sarah £500 towards her holiday,” said Richard. “That was part of the deal.” Reed parts manager Paul Scott described the night as an amazing success. “My phone has hardly stopped ringing with our customers saying they had such a brilliant time, and Del Boy Maurice Canham went down a storm.”
