GET-TOGETHER IN THE ORCHARD

The Orchard Centre at Didcot, Oxfordshire has hosted a regional meeting of shopping centre managers from across the south and west.

Centre managers from Bristol, Wales, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Hampshire and Devon as well as Oxfordshire met, chatted and shared views on numerous topics including trading, health and safety, employment and security.

Many managers reported highly successful pre-Christmas campaigns with high footfall and big spend in the days immediately before the seasonal break, although the snow and ice early in the New Year impacted on shop takings early in January.

Orchard Centre manager Steve Murray, who was one of the delegates, said the get-together had been very positive and informative and visiting managers had been impressed with the quality of shops. facilities at the centre and they thanked him for hosting the event.
