SOLDIER'S MUM'S PLEA

Solider’s mum Eileen Moseley appealing to the people of Cheltenham to support her fundraising efforts for the Help for Heroes charity which helps wounded servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq.

Mrs Moseley, who lives in Cheltenham and whose son Rob is a Captain in the Royal Tank Regiment and knows many of the servicemen injured in the conflicts, held a Colossal Cake Sale in Cheltenham’s Beechwood Shopping Centre on Saturday, March 20.

She appealed for people to provide homemade cakes and shopper turned out to buy them.

Mrs Moseley's son has served in Iraq and she expects him to be posted to Afghanistan shortly.

She said Rob knows many of those who have returned home wounded, some of them very good friends, and she felt she had to do something to help.

“It’s something I felt I had to do and wanted to do, and this is just my small contribution,” she said.

Mrs Moseley approached Beechwood Shopping Centre for permission to set up a Help the Heroes cake stall in the centre circle and Beechwood’s centre manager Owen Acland had no hesitation in agreeing to her request.
