SECURITY TEAM EARNS TOP AWARD
The Shires shopping centre’s security team, whose work includes monitoring CCTV cameras around Trowbridge town centre, has been commended for its service to the community.
The team was presented with a Trowbridge Town Council commendation certificate in front of a packed audience at a ceremony at the Civic Hall.
Four of the team, Ian Pearce, Howard Tadd, Jayne Reid and Andy Kennon, accompanied by deputy centre manager Vince Cortilla, received the award from the mayor Jeff Osborn who paid tribute to their work in assisting the police in helping keep the streets of Trowbridge safe.
Angela Clarke and Isaac Klaasen were on duty in The Shires CCTV control room and were unable to attend.
The Shires' centre manager John Grinnell said the team deserved praise for their vigilance in helping the police protect premises and members of the public.
He said their alertness and quick-thinking had helped make the streets of Trowbridge much safer, either by helping bring criminals to justice or identifying potential trouble-makers.
The team monitors 48 cameras which cover both The Shires shopping centre and the town centre.
