SHIRES CHOOSES A NEW CHARITY

The Shires Shopping Centre in Trowbridge has chosen Hope Nature Centre as its nominated charity for 2011.

The Trowbridge charity, which is based at Southwick Country Park, is devoted to helping adults with learning disabilities and has received its first donation from The Shires’ centre manager John Grinnell.

The £32 raised from donations at The Shires’ Christmas Santa’s Grotto was presented to Hope Nature Centre’s chairman Tom James and company secretary Hazel Jackson.

Mr Grinnell said The Shires was pleased to be supporting such a worthy local charity and the shopping centre’s fundraising activities this year would be dedicated to raising as much money as possible for them.

One of The Shires’ security staff, Jayne Reid will be co-ordinating events on their behalf.

Mrs Jackson thanked The Shires for nominating Hope Nature Centre as its chosen charity for 2011 and looked forward to working with them during the coming months.
