JOBS CREATED AS NEW STORE OPENS IN THE SHIRES

bonmarchePreparations are well underway for the opening of a new store in The Shires Shopping Centre, Trowbridge on Thursday, March 3.

The store will be officially opened by the winner of the Wiltshire Times Fantastic Female competition, Mrs Sandie Spencer, who will cut the ribbon and receive £300 worth of prizes.

Kelly Hawkins, who was assistant manager at the Bonmarché store in Swindon, has been appointed manager at Trowbridge, and her assistant is expected to be announced shortly. Ten other part-time staff have also been recruited and have been undergoing their induction this week.

Bonmarché’s area manager Tracy Lamb said they were delighted to be opening in The Shires. “It’s a great shopping centre and it ticked all the right boxes for us,” she said. “The demographics of Trowbridge shows that it is the perfect  location for us. The Shires has a large car park and is right next door to Asda. It’s ideal.”

Bonmarché provides quality fashionable women’s wear and will be giving away goodie bags to its first 30 customers on the opening day. It's other stores in Wiltshire are in Chippenham as well as Swindon.

The Shires centre manager John Grinnell said: “Bonmarché has a growing presence on the High Street with more than 380 stores nationwide and we are excited about their arrival. The store will be a great boost for our fashion offering which caters for the whole family.”
