CARTER JONAS OPENS NEW OFFICE IN THE CENTRE OF BATH
National property consultants Carter Jonas, specialists in all aspects of the residential, commercial and rural property sector, is opening new, modern offices in the centre of Bath at the beginning of May.
Carter Jonas, which has a network of 30 offices across England and Wales and employs 550 partners and staff, has completed substantial reburbishment of a five-storey Grade 1 listed building in Wood Street in the centre of the Georgian city and which will be its largest west country base.
The welcoming air-conditioned premises with a shop frontage in a prime location will accommodate 25 staff dealing with all aspects of the firm's business.
The Wood Street office was previously occupied by Bristol & West Building Society but has been empty for about nine years.
Carter Jonas partner Philip Marshall, above, who heads up the Bath office, said everyone was delighted to be opening after five months of extensive reburbishment work.
“We will have all our services under one roof, including all our residential properties under the leadership of head of residential sales David Mackenzie and associate Patrick Brady who will join the company on May 24.
“There has been a lot of planning and a lot of hard work but we feel we have the right location in one of the most attractive cities in the country and we guarantee the people of Bath and across the west country the best kind of service. It’s an exciting time for us and hope it will be also be an exciting time for Bath and the west.
“The Bath office will cover an area from Gloucestershire to the north, Avon and Somerset and Wiltshire although we have no strict boundaries and will be pleased to receive calls and inquiries from right across the west and help and advise in any way we can.”
Philip, a specialist in commercial property acquisitions and disposals, dealing with propety investment, retail, office, restaurant and hotel property, as well as development, heads the commercial team. Partner Kit Harding specialises in rural agency including country houses, farms, estates and development land.
Kit has lived and worked in the area for more than 30 years and is a prominent member of the local business community and is particularly well known for his auctioneering skills.
The new Bath office will accommodate some staff from the former Carter Jonas office in Chippenham, with others transferring to the Marlborough office.
