RIGHT PLACE TO FIND WORK
A recruitment company that grew its business by 35 per cent during the recession last year has moved to new offices to set the company on course for further growth. Workplace was started by Nick Day four years ago and before its move to 9 Silver Street, Trowbridge was based in Fore Street next to the Crowing Cock café. Mr Day runs the business with a team of six suppling clients in the industrial, commercial and driving sectors. As well as operating across Wiltshire, the company has clients from Bridgwater to Bristol and Avonmouth to Swindon and also has an office base in Poland to cater for the large Polish community in and around Trowbridge. The new office, formerly Philip Robinson Menswear, was let by commercial property agents Carter Jonas. Mr Day, who lives in Hawkeridge with his wife Bronagh and children Niamh, 8, and Tom, 7, said: “As soon as the premises became available, Colin Scragg at Carter Jonas suggested they would be ideal for us as they have large window spaces enabling us to display vacancies on a TV screen at the heart of a prime retail area. “There are two upper floors with rooms for meetings and training and there is a room on the second floor which my children have commandeered. They insist on having their own office and say it will be a great place to do their homework.” Workplace key clients include Valldata in Melksham and Airsprung in Trowbridge, with which Mr Day has connections beyond supplying staff. “Airsprung approached us to consider running their restaurant. It seemed an opportunity not to be missed and I now own and run it,” said Mr Day. “The business, which is also open to the public, now has hundreds of customers every day and is testament to our ability to think outside of the box when it comes to providing outsourced services and solutions to our clients,” he said. |
