Widbrook Arabian Stud and Equestrian Centre has joined a scheme for riders to take part in dressage competitions online, allowing them to compete when they want. Competitors can complete a dressage test on their own or a riding school horse at the Bradford on Avon riding school via video which is then submitted to www.interdressage.com for a chance to win rosettes and prize money. Widbrook manager Karen Griggs said: “It’s a great way of entering dressage competitions with the benefit of doing the test in familiar surroundings at a time convenient to the rider. We have one indoor and two outdoor arenas so as long as the time doesn’t conflict with lessons, competitors can complete their test any time. All that is needed is a video camera, someone to video the test and access to a computer. “If you don’t have your own horse, or can’t get transport for your horse, this is ideal and it means you can also study your video later to see how you can improve.” Entries can be transferred to CD and posted or the video can be uploaded to YouTube with an email link supplied to InterDressage. All entries are judged by British dressage listed judges assisted by professional instructors and results are posted on the website. There is also a chance to take part in a riding school points league and new for 2009 is a range of showing classes. For more details visit www.interdressage.com or call Widbrook on 01225 862608.
