ADVANCE ORDERS FOR VIDEO GAME

The GameOn store in Beechwood Shopping Centre, Cheltenham has been inundated with advance orders for the Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 video game.

The store has taken well over 100 pre-orders of the XBox 360 game which is not due for release until November 10. The game is also available on PS3.

Darren Greening, joint owner of the independent video game store which sells and trades-in all the latest video games and consoles, said: “We are taking new orders every day and are gearing up for the launch day when we expect the shop to be packed.

"Early indications are that the game will be an enormous success, more so than its predecessor. Our pre-orders of the games in both formats are running out fast.”

Darren, who runs the shop with his business partner Emma Mills, said the release of the video game, which has a recommended retail price of £54.99, coincides with the store’s second anniversary next month.

As part of its anniversary year, GameOn has also introduced a store loyalty card. When a customer buys seven new games over separate transactions they get the eighth game free.
